FIFA President Gianni Infantino has proposed the immediate removal from the field of players who cover their mouths while speaking during arguments on the pitch.
Idman.Biz reports that he considers a player covering their mouth as an indication that they are using language they shouldn't be.
This statement comes after Vinicius Junior reported being racially abused by Benfica player Gianluca Prestianni in the Champions League. UEFA has launched an investigation into the incident, and Prestianni has been suspended from the return leg.
Infantino stated that FIFA plans to introduce new rules to prevent such incidents in the lead-up to the 2026 World Cup.
