FIFA President Gianni Infantino has announced that the Iranian national team will participate in the WC-2026. Sport24.az reports that the head of the supreme football body stated this in a meeting with journalists after visiting the team's training camp in Antalya:
"Iran will participate in the World Cup. That's why we are here. We are very happy because they are a very strong team, and I am also very happy. I saw the team, I spoke with the players and the coach, so everything is fine. According to the draw, the games will be played where they should be played."
It should be noted that the WC-2026 will be held in the USA, Mexico and Canada from June 11 to July 19. Iran is in Group G together with Belgium, Egypt and New Zealand.
