The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) intends to make changes to the international calendar and combine the September and October breaks for national team matches.
This was reported by "Report", citing the "El Desmarque" portal.
Currently, there are three breaks for national teams' autumn matches - in September, October, and November. From 2026, FIFA plans to make a single break lasting 16 days in September and October.
Next year, the first break in international matches for national teams is scheduled from September 21 to October 6.
Thus, teams will be able to play four matches during this period. The international break in November will take place on November 9-17, 2026. Two matches are planned for each team during this period.
