Former head coach of the Azerbaijani national team, Fernandu Santos, has stated that he is open to resuming his career.
Idman.Biz reports with reference to abola.pt that the 71-year-old specialist did not hide the possibility of heading to Saudi Arabia.
"After leaving the Azerbaijani national team, I received several offers. However, for various reasons, none of them materialized. I am ready to evaluate new opportunities. The Saudi Arabian league is a championship with high quality and worthy of international reputation. It is normal to have speculations about my name. I have had contacts, but I cannot say anything specific about the situation at the moment," he said in a statement.
It should be noted that F. Santos coached the Azerbaijani national team from June 2024 to September 2025. Currently, his name is mentioned together with the Egyptian club "Al-Ahly" and the Saudi Arabian club "Al-Shabab".
