Former Brazil international midfielder Fernandinho has decided to end his professional football career.
According to Idman.Biz, citing Globo Esporte, the 40-year-old footballer announced this after participating in a charity match.
"I'm tired. Today I got tired after running for only 30 minutes. There's nothing else in football that can motivate me, because I've already achieved so much. I've done my best. Now I have to enjoy spending time with my family," said Fernandinho.
At club level, the midfielder played for Atletico Paranaense, Shakhtar Donetsk and Manchester City, winning five Premier League titles with them. He scored 26 goals and made 32 assists in 383 games for City.
Fernandinho won the Copa America with Brazil in 2019.
