Midfielder Fermin Lopez has been named Champions League Player of the Week.
Idman.Biz reports that the Barcelona player played a direct role in the 6-1 victory over Olympiacos in the third round of the group stage. He scored three goals in the 7th, 38th, and 76th minutes.
By scoring three goals against Olympiacos, the midfielder became the first Spaniard in history to score a hat-trick for Barcelona in the Champions League.
Dennis Man (PSV), Felix Nmecha (Borussia Dortmund), and Gorka Guruzeta (Athletic) were also nominated for the award.
