Tensions have arisen between "Galatasaray" and "Fenerbahce". Earlier, the press service of the "Galatasaray" club issued a statement claiming that former "Fenerbahce" president Ali Koç had threatened the team's head coach Okan Buruk. "The Yellow-Reds" stated that Ali Koç used his influence to threaten the Turkish specialist, adding that they would not allow such cases and that they stand behind Okan Buruk.
Sport24.az reports that after this post, the "Fenerbahce" club also issued a statement to the public.
"The Yellow-Navy Blues" stated in their statement that artificial polemics were created around Ali Koç, and they announced that they strongly rejected such accusations. The club stated that it is not right to create tension in the Turkish sports community with off-field statements.
In its statement, "Fenerbahce" also emphasized that sound thinking, responsibility and justice are the basic needs of Turkish sports, and stated that they are against polemics that confront the public.
