The first leg of the Europa League play-off match between "Fenerbahce" and "Nottingham Forest" will attract great attention not only in Istanbul, where the game will be held, but also in Azerbaijan, where "Fenerbahce" traditionally has a large number of fans.

In the last round, they won 3:2 over "Trabzonspor", and the nature of the game revealed a lot: the team kept the tempo under control, patiently looked for chances, and squeezed the opponent after the break, achieving what they wanted. In general, the Istanbul team's season is built on discipline and tempo control, especially in home games, they rarely allow the match to turn into an open attack exchange.
"Nottingham Forest", on the other hand, faced a more tense background before the trip. Therefore, the goals are different for the first meeting. "Fenerbahce" will strive for victory without opening up early, through control and gradual pressure. "Nottingham Forest" will be satisfied with any working score that will keep the confrontation open before the return match in England.
In fact, this match will show more of the level of preparation than the difference in class: the home team will check their stability at the Eurocup play-off level, while the guests will try to demonstrate how quickly the new coach's idea turns into a real structure on the field.
