Turkish club "Fenerbahce" is working on a sensational plan to strengthen their attacking line during the winter transfer window.
Idman.Biz reports that the club, taking advantage of the crisis in the Premier League, has placed Jean-Philippe Mateta, one of the main strikers of "Crystal Palace", at the top of their transfer list. The French forward's market value is currently estimated at 40 million euros (80 million AZN).
According to reports, "Fenerbahce's" main target was initially Darwin Nunez, who plays for the Saudi Arabian club "Al-Hilal". If an agreement is not reached with the Uruguayan striker, the Istanbul representative will switch to alternative options. These alternatives include Mateta from the Premier League and "Tottenham" striker Mathis Tel.
It is noted that the internal problems at "Crystal Palace" could make "Fenerbahce's" job easier. The club's head coach, Oliver Glasner, has announced that he will leave the team at the end of the season and has openly stated that he is dissatisfied with the management's transfer policy.
This season, Jean-Philippe Mateta has played 33 matches for "Crystal Palace", scoring 10 goals and providing two assists.
Mathis Tel, on the other hand, was transferred to "Tottenham" at the beginning of the season for 35 million euros (70 million AZN). The young footballer has scored three goals in 20 matches this season.
