Araz-Nakhchivan player Felipe Santos gave an interview to Sportal.az.
He spoke about the match against Neftchi within the 8th round of the Misli Premier League today:
"Neftchi is an excellent team. They play good football. But we will do our best in this match as well. It will be a difficult match, but we will fight until the end."
The 28-year-old Brazilian player, who obtained Benin citizenship and gained the right to play for the national team of that country, also expressed his views on this: "I am very happy to have completed the citizenship process for the Benin national team. Unfortunately, we could not qualify for the World Cup. But I am very excited to be able to help the team. As for being invited to the national team, I strongly believe in my participation in Azerbaijan in the last few years, not only in Araz Nakhchivan. I believe that in the 4 years I have been in Azerbaijan, I have been one of the highlights of this championship with goals, productive passes and titles. This is largely due to my head coach Elmar Bakhshiyev. Because he has always trusted me. So this is a very important achievement for me."
Has Santos, who has been playing in Azerbaijan for a long time, had a chance to be nationalized for our national team? The football player himself said that he did not receive an offer from AFFA: "An offer from AFFA? As far as I know, there was no such issue. But after I was nationalized for the Benin national team, some people told me that someone had such a desire. I just don't know exactly, it seems like it wasn't there. In any case, I will now play for the Benin national team and give all my strength on the field for the team."
