Idman.Biz reports that the 37-year-old striker, who currently plays for his country's Barcelona club, made this decision because he was affected by the recent death of his teammate Mario Alberto Pineida in an armed attack.
During his career, Felipe Caicedo also played for well-known teams such as Inter and Lazio, in addition to Manchester City.
