"Real" played a total of 68 matches during the season, and the Uruguayan midfielder missed only 3 games.
Only two players in the history of the "Royal Club" have played more than 60 official matches in one season. The second player also achieved this feat in the same season - Luka Modrić (63 matches).
Valverde is also the player with the most minutes played for "Real" in a season - 5557 minutes. The previous record belonged to goalkeeper Paco Buyo - 5250 minutes in the 1986/87 season.
