Juventus defender Federico Gatti made harsh statements after the 2:3 defeat to Galatasaray in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League play-off stage.
Idman.Biz reports that the Italian defender could not digest his team's elimination from the tournament. He criticized the tense match against the Istanbul representative and the referee's decisions.
"We just showed a crazy game. It's absurd that we lost the ticket to the next stage after such a fight. The moment with Kelly? It seems to me that this is delirium. What was he supposed to do? In modern football, defenders are punished for everything," the defender emphasized.
Gatti emphasized that although they were able to change the course of the game, the overall result was disappointing:
"We were able to get back into the game and change the course in our favor, but unfortunately, everything was actually lost in the first match. In the end, only the result matters, but today we played a great game. I feel squeezed like a lemon and I am very disappointed."
The defender, who recently returned from injury, also spoke about his physical condition:
"I have recently recovered, I still feel a little discomfort. But the more you play, the faster you recover your form. It's worth going on the field for such matches. We haven't met Luciano Spalletti yet after the game."
