Following Trabzonspor's 4-3 away victory against Başakşehir in the last Super League match, head coach Fatih Tekke shared his thoughts on his team's success and the problems that arose.
İdman.Biz reports that the head coach first evaluated championship expectations and assessed the real goals of the season.
"I can't even explain it to my wife at home, she, like the people outside, says, 'we will be champions.' No one can want this as much as I do. I know my team, if we are between 1st and 4th place, that is a very good success," Tekke said.
The head coach emphasized that the physical and psychological burden of the players is often not appreciated.
"People don't know what they're getting upset about. This is a footballer's life. The salaries they receive are true, but look, our captain Edin Visca got injured. I had 16 surgeries, 3 years of my life were spent in hospitals. There is also a psychological side, they don't sleep. Everyone knows this job, but no one respects it," Tekke said.
