Mohammadreza Keshavarifard, secretary of the Iranian Professional League Organization, clarified the rumors circulating about the continuation of the football championship in the country.
Idman.Biz reports that Keshavarifard stated that the football authorities are holding regular discussions regarding the current situation in the country. The secretary said that the last meeting held served precisely this purpose, and that a broader meeting will be held next week.
According to him, a consultation meeting in online format (webinar) will be held next week between officials of the League Organization and the Football Federation and the general directors of Premier League clubs. At this meeting, ideas will be exchanged on the selection of host provinces and other organizational issues.
Keshavarifard added at the end that the final decision on the continuation of league games will be made by the League Organization, taking into account all conditions and in agreement with the President of the Federation.
It should be noted that in recent days, information has been circulating on social networks that a decision has been made to hold all Iranian football championship games in one of the provinces that has not been affected by the war.
