"Goalkeepers invited to the national team have been constantly called up to the country's main team recently." Farhad Veliyev said this in his statement to Sport24.az.
The former goalkeeper of the Azerbaijani national team commented on the fact that the goalkeepers invited for the matches of our national team against France and Ukraine did not play in their clubs:
"Shahruddin Mahammadaliyev played in 3 games in the championship. Other goalkeepers - Rza Jafarov and Aydin Bayramov did not participate in even one game. This situation worries us. In general, the same goalkeepers are invited to the national team recently. The strongest goalkeepers in our football are currently being invited. Game against France and Ukraine? It will be very difficult and stressful matches. Both matches are away. Aykhan Abbasov has been appointed as the new head coach. I think that this factor will affect the motivation of the players. They will fight to the end and want to return home with a good result."
It should be noted that our team will face the French national team in Paris on October 10 and the Ukrainian national team in Krakow, Poland on October 13 as part of the qualifying round of the DÇ-2026.
