Azerbaijani national football player Mahir Emreli has made a farewell post regarding his departure from the German club "Nuremberg". Sport24.az reports that the 28-year-old striker noted the following on his Instagram social network account:
"In every footballer's career, there are clubs that don't just become a part of the journey, they become a part of you. For me, "Nuremberg" is exactly such a club.
It is a special source of pride for an Azerbaijani footballer to play for one of the most historic clubs in Europe. But the most valuable thing was not just playing on the field, but the opportunity to work with a football legend like Miroslav Klose. It was the moment my childhood dream came true.
Dear "Nuremberg" family, you trusted me, and every time I wore this uniform, with every goal I scored, in every game I fought, I tried to make you proud. I wore this uniform with pride not only on my body, but in my heart. Because I had such dear fans behind me.
Today I am leaving "Nuremberg", but in the background I can still hear your voices, your applause, and the heartbeat of this city. And I carry a love in my heart that I will never forget...".
Emreli ended his farewell message with the club's slogan "Einmal Cluberer, immer Cluberer!" ("Once a Cluberer, always a Cluberer!").
