An Espanyol fan who racially insulted Athletic Bilbao forward Inaki Williams has been sentenced to one year in prison. AFP reports.
The individual was accused of making racist gestures and shouting at the Ghanaian footballer during a home game for the Catalan team in January 2020.
According to Spanish law, he will not serve his sentence in prison as the sentence is less than two years and he has no prior convictions. The fan has been fined 1,000 euros and banned from attending football stadiums for three years.
