"We knew the game would be difficult. We prepared accordingly." These words were said by "Turan Tovuz" footballer Faig Hajiyev in his statement to Sport24.az.
The 25-year-old midfielder shared his thoughts on the away game against "Sumgayit" in the 35th round of the Misli Premier League, which they won (1:0):
"We wanted to strengthen our position by winning. Thankfully, everything turned out as we wanted."
Hajiyev also spoke about the performance of the Tovuz representative this season:
"I wouldn't consider fourth place a bad result. In fact, maybe many people didn't believe in us when the championship started. We tried to do our best to fight for European Cups. True, we could have achieved even better results. But we still have hope for European Cups. We hope that the season will be more successful for us in the cup final."
