"We knew the game against "Shamakhi" would be tense". These words were said by "Turan Tovuz" footballer Faig Hajiyev in his statement to Sport24.az.
The 25-year-old defender spoke about not appearing in recent games:
"We hadn't played in our home stadium in front of our fans for a long time. We wanted to give them the joy of victory. Thank God, we managed to do it. The reason I didn't play in the last games is the head coach's choice. I haven't had a conversation with Kurban Berdiyev about this. I always do my training to stay in shape. The national team game is coming up. I want to receive an invitation to the national team camp. Even if the invitation doesn't come, I won't be discouraged. I will work even harder to attract the attention of the national team coaches".
It should be noted that the "Turan Tovuz" - "Shamakhi" match ended with a 2:1 victory for the Tovuz representative.
