Lent.az reports that on August 20, the 44-year-old Brazilian goalkeeper played his record 1391st game in his professional career in the South American Cup match against America de Cali (2:0). With this, he surpassed the career record of former England national team goalkeeper Peter Shilton for the number of official games (1390).
Fabio has a total of this many games to his credit: 976 games for Cruzeiro, 235 games for Fluminense, 150 games for Vasco da Gama, and 30 games for Unian Bandeirante.
