Brazilian goalkeeper Fabio Lopes has equaled Peter Shilton's record for the number of official matches played.
Idman.biz reports that the goalkeeper with the most appearances in football history has 1390 matches to his name.
The 44-year-old goalkeeper, who guards the goal of "Fluminense", has shared the world record. Fabio played 976 of these matches for "Cruzeiro", 234 for "Fluminense", 150 for "Vasco da Gama", and 30 for "União Bandeirante".
It should be noted that although English goalkeeper Shilton stated that he had 1387 matches, according to the calculations of the Guinness Book of Records, this number is equal to 1390.
