Fabio Cannavaro has arrived in Tashkent with his coaching staff. Sport24.az reports that this was announced by the press service of the Uzbekistan Football Association.
He is expected to lead the Uzbekistan national team at the 2026 World Cup.
Cannavaro's last job was Zagreb's "Dinamo", which he left in April of this year. He has also coached Udinese, Benevento, Chinese clubs Guangzhou and Tianjin, and Saudi Arabia's Al-Nassr.
It should be noted that the 2026 World Cup will be held in the USA, Canada, and Mexico from June 11 to July 19. Uzbekistan will participate in the World Cup for the first time in its history.
