Fernando Santos' dismissal from the national team will benefit Azerbaijani football.
This was stated by PRO category coach Azer Bagirov in his statement to "Report".
He commented on Fernando Santos' dismissal from the post of head coach of the Azerbaijani national team today:
"AFFA considered his previous successes when appointing him as head coach. However, when he did not produce results in the Azerbaijani national team, we all felt regret. Santos should have been dismissed several matches ago. In any case, terminating his work in the national team is the right step. We believe that the next choice will be beneficial for Azerbaijani football."
It should be noted that Fernando Santos was appointed head coach of the Azerbaijani national team in June last year. The contract with the Portuguese specialist was mutually terminated today.
