Europe's 10 most expensive national teams: Spain and France compete for leadership

National championships have almost started, and the best football players of the clubs have already left for their national teams.

Lent.az reports that the Transfermarkt portal has announced the names of the ten most expensive teams from European countries in the qualifying round of the 2026 World Championship, according to the total value of the players. The statistics include only football players called up for the September matches of European national teams.

Only two teams have a total squad value of over a billion - Spain and France. The Spaniards are only 10 million euros behind the French, and De la Fuente's team has two more players.

The most expensive player in the French squad is captain Kilian Mbappe, valued at 180 million euros in transfer value, followed by Michael Olise, whose value is 100 million euros. 

In Spain, the most expensive player on the planet is Lamine Yamal, if you want to transfer him you will have to pay 200 million euros for him, then comes Pedri, valued at 140 million euros.

If Bukayo Saka (150 million euros) and Jude Bellingham (180 million euros) had gone to the training camp, the English could also have been among the top three billion-dollar teams. Erling Haaland, who is in eighth place in Norway, is valued at the same amount as the Madrid star.

In terms of the world's ten most expensive players who did not participate in the September training camp, in addition to Bellingham and Saka, we should also mention Jamal Musiala, although his 140 million euros would not raise Germany's rating.
