The first goal of the match was scored by Catalan striker Pere Milla in the 48th minute of the second half. Late in the game, in the 84th minute, "Espanyol" striker Roberto Fernandes consolidated his team's lead. Two minutes later, the visitors' defender Markua set the final score - 2:1.
After this game, "Sevilla" is 11th in the Spanish top division with 16 points, while "Espanyol" is sixth with 21 points.
