An investigation has been launched into sports commentator and former football referee Erman Toroğlu. Sport24.az reports that this is due to his statements about Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek on a television program he attended.
He is being investigated on charges of misleading the public.
Toroğlu is currently under investigation for stating that "Dursun Özbek said to the federation president in a secret meeting, 'We have to be champions this year, the situation is very bad, help us'."
The Turkish commentator was released on condition of a ban on leaving the country and regularly signing in at the police station.
