Nigeria national team coach Erik Schael has expressed his desire to manage the Madrid giant.
Idman.Biz reports this with reference to "The Touchline" newspaper.
"My biggest dream is to become the first African coach of "Real Madrid"," Schael wrote on social media.
Despite interest from other countries such as Tunisia, Angola and Gabon, Schael prefers to work with the Nigeria national team.
After Xabi Alonso's departure on January 12, 2026, Alvaro Arbeloa was appointed head coach of "Real Madrid". His contract is until the summer of 2027.
After 23 rounds of the Spanish championship, the Madrid club is in second place in the standings with 57 points. They are one point behind leader Barcelona.
