Former Manchester United and France footballer Eric Cantona has called on the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) and the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) to ban Israeli national teams and clubs from international competitions.
Idman.biz reports that Cantona cited Russia as an example in this matter.
"Four days after the start of the conflict in Ukraine, FIFA and UEFA excluded Russia. 716 days have already passed since the start of what Amnesty International calls a genocide, and Israel is still allowed to participate. Why do double standards exist? FIFA and UEFA must ban Israel. Clubs and players from all over the world must refuse to play against Israeli teams," Cantona said.
