Former Manchester United and France player Eric Cantona shared his thoughts on the atmosphere in modern football.
Idman.Biz reports that he criticized the modern atmosphere.
"Unfortunately, the atmosphere in the stadium has changed. Last season I was watching the Manchester City game at Old Trafford and it was quiet. United fans prefer to go to away games, to be with real fans, rather than be surrounded by people from all over the world who just come to go to boutiques.
We need to be closer to real football, to working people. Football is a working-class game, and it's important not to forget that. If I lived in England, I'd rather support a third or fourth division club. I don't see our old energy. It's not the fault of the fans; it's the fault of the clubs' management - the economic system," The Telegraph quotes Cantona as saying.
