"Manchester City" has abandoned its plans to transfer Bayer midfielder Florian Wirtz.
Lent.az reports that, according to the BBC, the English club is no longer considering signing the 22-year-old footballer.
The main reason for the abandonment is the high cost of the transfer. Considering the expected amount of the contract and salary, the total cost of Wirtz's transfer could be 300 million euros, which would be a record for Manchester City.
"Bayer" plans to earn approximately 150 million euros from the player's transfer.
Clubs such as "Bayern", "Real" and "Liverpool" are also contenders for the midfielder.
This season, Wirtz has played 45 games for the German club, scoring 16 goals and providing 15 assists.
