In a friendly match held yesterday, the England national team lost to Japan at "home". Sport24.az reports that the match held at Wembley Stadium ended with a 1-0 victory for the "Land of the Rising Sun" team.
According to "The Athletic", this is England's first defeat against an Asian team in its history.
England has now lost to teams from all continents.
It should be noted that the English first lost to a European team in 1874 (to Scotland), to a North American representative in 1950 (to the USA), to a South American team in 1953 (to Uruguay), to Oceania (Australia) in 2003, and to an African national team (Senegal) in 2025.
