An interview with "Qarabag" football player Emmanuel Addai for Sport24.az
- You won 1:0 against "Kapaz" at home in the VII round of the Premier League. What can you say about the game?
– I think some players in the squad were ready for this match. We must always be ready. But as it turned out, we didn't understand what was happening on the field. It was a bit of a difficult match. I don't know, maybe it happened because the opponent had a change of head coach. But thank God we were able to score.
- You distinguished yourself in the Champions League match against "Copenhagen". What is the atmosphere in the team after that match? How do you feel?
- I felt great. First of all, I want to thank God for everything, as well as my coach, my team and everyone. Winning was amazing and seeing everyone happy about it made me happy. I am also happy when the country I play in is happy. It was an incredible victory.
– You have gained 6 points after two games. Is it possible to think about the next stage already?
- Of course. The goal is to qualify for the next stage. We knew we were ready for the Champions League and our desire is to go as far as we can.
– There will be a break due to the national team games. Can this period affect the team's rhythm?
- No, we are all ready. Our coach doesn't need to motivate the team separately. We are professional players and we know what to do. We prepare for everything quietly and calmly. We don't even think about the next championship game, our focus is on the match against "Athletic".
– The stadium was full in the "Copenhagen" game. But there were few fans in this match. How did this difference affect you?
- What can I say? Sometimes my throat hurts, and sometimes my throat hurts (laughs). But the most important thing is the championship. I enjoy playing in the championship. Sometimes I really enjoy being in this league. It was also interesting for me that the goal was chosen a little lightly.
- You distinguished yourself in the match against "Copenhagen" and that goal was chosen as the best of the day. Were you expecting this?
- I was always expecting that goal. But not for myself, but for the fans. I think that the moment I wanted to score that goal, I already knew that it would go into the goal. I really needed that goal.
