"Report" informs that the captain of the Azerbaijan national football team, Emin Mahmudov, stated this at a press conference.
The 33-year-old midfielder shared his thoughts before the match against the Saint Lucia team in the "FIFA Series – 2026" international tournament:
"We want to perform well in the first game in 2026. Winning is very important for us. There are no easy opponents. We haven't been able to win for a long time. We have to go out on the field to win."
It should be noted that the match, which will be held on March 27 at the Mehdi Huseynzade Sumgayit City Stadium, will start at 19:00.
