"Qarabağ" player Elvin Jafarquliyev is proud to be named the best player of the match against Denmark's "Copenhagen" in the second round of the UEFA Champions League main stage.
The 24-year-old flank defender said this in an interview with "Report".
He said he was very happy:
"I am the first Azerbaijani football player to be named the best in a UEFA Champions League match. I am very proud of this. I thank all my teammates and coaches. They also have merit."
E. Jafarquliyev said that the meeting with "Copenhagen" in the second round was very difficult:
"We knew it would be like this. We won in front of our fans. I am especially happy about this. Also, we won for the first time in the main stage of the Champions League in Azerbaijan. This is also history. I congratulate everyone."
It should be noted that "Qarabağ" defeated "Copenhagen" with 2 unanswered goals at the Tofig Bahramov Republican Stadium.
