Qarabag's footballer Elvin Jafarov spoke about the 2-0 victory over Copenhagen in the 2nd round of the Champions League League stage. Sport24.az reports that the defender, who was named the best of the match, said in a statement to journalists:
"I am very proud. I wouldn't have dreamed that I would be chosen the best in a Champions League game. I thank the coaching staff, everyone. I am grateful to our fans for giving us confidence. As a team, we believe in ourselves."
E. Jafarguliyev reacted to the media representative's joke, "You will probably sleep with the best player award": "No, I still won't be able to sleep. I will put the award in a place where I can always see it. Maybe I will sleep looking at it."
He also emphasized that the meeting was difficult: "The game was very difficult. We had analyzed the opponent. We also watched their last games. We know that there are no weak opponents in the Champions League. Thank God we won. We must not be satisfied with this. God willing, we will make the fans and you happy in the next games."
E. Jafarguliyev shared his thoughts on the upcoming matches: "Of course. But we also believe in ourselves. We will also analyze the next opponents."
The footballer answered the question "How would you rate your chances of advancing to the next stage by being in the top "24" in the tournament table?": "Our intention is simply to go out on the field and play our game, to win. Only God knows what will happen in the end."
