AFFA press secretary Elnur Mammadli has resigned from his position.
Idman.biz reports that a well-known sports journalist shared this information on his personal Facebook account.
He touched upon a number of points related to the years he worked: "Exactly two years ago, today - when I agreed to become the head of the Press Service during the turbulent period of AFFA, I knew very well what risk I was taking. But I thought that step by step it would be possible to improve the not-so-good relations between AFFA and the press.
On the one hand, I also understood that I would have to spend my reputation and influence on this. But at that time there was a belief that everything would change, everything would be better... It was a time when sports principles began to be followed in the Premier League, the Second League was created, and even there were rumors in the corridors that the head coach of the national team could be local. Indeed, at that time most people had a belief...
If I had even a small share in improving relations between AFFA and the press, as the Turks say - I am happy. I want to thank all my colleagues. I think we understood each other even in the most critical periods. The main thing is that we will be able to look each other straight in the eye from now on.
Life goes on. Undoubtedly, everything will be better. We will meet again."
It should be noted that Elnur Mammadli was appointed AFFA press secretary in August 2023.
