- Our national team will play its second match today within the framework of the "FIFA Series-2026" international tournament. This time, the opponent is the Sierra Leone national team, which is ahead of us in the FIFA ranking. What result do you expect?
- Sierra Leone is one of the teams we have heard and know to some extent, and is more advanced compared to Saint Lucia. Nevertheless, I expect only a victory from today's match as well. After the first victory, the sense of self-confidence of our players has increased, their motivation and mood are good. Taking this into account, my expectation from the match with Sierra Leone is also a victory.
- As a former national team member, what position are you most concerned about in our current national team?
- We have problems in almost all positions. There is a lack of goalkeepers, stoppers and forwards. Mahir Emreli was not invited to the national team because he recently returned from injury, and Nariman Akhundzade has just moved to the USA and still has little chance to play. Looking at other positions, the midfield line is normal.
- The new season of the UEFA Nations League will start in September. Our opponents will be the national teams of Lithuania and Liechtenstein. Do you think our team will be able to return to League C?
- Like everyone else, I am confident that our team will be able to return to League C. I watched Lithuania's game against Georgia. Based on this, I can say that the Lithuanian national team is not very weak, it is a team at our level. Liechtenstein is no longer the team we beat with a score of 4:0. They have also made progress. It will be difficult. But I think that with God's help, we will be able to return to League C.
