The head coach of "Araz-Nakhchivan," Elmar Bakhshiyev, gave an interview to "Report". The expert talked about the team's training camp in Turkey, the test matches they held, and the current situation. He also expressed his views on the match they will play against the Greek representative "Aris" in the UEFA Conference League.
- How do you assess the training camp held in Turkey?
- It was an interesting and useful training camp for our team. We worked on both physical and tactical-technical aspects for two weeks. The children were both enthusiastic and eager, and they tried to fulfill the given tasks to the maximum extent. This training camp was also useful in terms of adapting our new transfers. We will realize the final part of the preparation for the game with "Aris" in Baku. During the training camp, certain loads were given, and tactical-technical exercises were done. We will gradually see the benefits of this. Therefore, it cannot be said that the team is 100 percent ready. However, I think this indicator is close to 70-80 percent.
- What were the positive and negative aspects during the training camp?
- Good conditions were created in the hotel where we stayed in terms of nutrition. The training grounds were also normal. There was no problem to prepare well. As a team, the players realized what we wanted and what we should do. They tried to do their best to achieve the goal. Of course, now is such a stage of preparation that it cannot be said that everything is ideal in the team. The given loads and exercises will show themselves during the season.
- Your victory over a well-known team like "Trabzonspor" among the test matches you held was a pleasant surprise. Did you prepare specifically for this match?
- When we were making plans for the training camp in Erzurum, we stated that we wanted to hold 3-4 test matches. In the first game, we faced an amateur team. Then 3 of our games were against representatives of the Turkish Super League. We had interesting meetings. We gave all the players the opportunity to play. We did not prepare specifically for any game. There were specific points that we paid special attention to, and we focused on them. In other words, we were more concerned with the work the team did on the field than the result in the test matches. "Trabzonspor" also has many fans in our country, and we knew that there was great interest in this game.
- Which of the new transfers impressed you the most with their game?
- I wouldn't want to single out anyone in particular. We have watched each of them many times, and there was something that caught our attention that we transferred them. Each of them has a special role in the team. They came here to help achieve the set goal.
- Vadim Abdullayev, who was among those who left "Araz-Nakhchivan," was expecting the team to offer him a new contract. He stated that he was one of the main contributors to "Araz-Nakhchivan" winning a ticket to the European Cups. What can you say about this issue?
- Vadim was one of the leading members of our team. Of course, all members of the team, including him, contributed to the success achieved. We thank you for this. After qualifying for the European Cups, we had to strengthen the squad. You also know the football player we transferred to that position. I wish Vadim success in his new team. He will still play in the Premier League.
- In general, what goals have been set for the team in the European Cups?
- We want to perform well and pass as many stages as possible. I believe that the European Cups will be successful for us.
- Have you analyzed your opponent "Aris" in the Conference League?
- Yes, we have some information about the opponent. They are a strong team, they have prepared well, and they have made several transfers. We will give the team the necessary information in Baku.
