"The preparation went according to plan. We held two training sessions a day. As planned in advance, we wanted to hold 3-4 test matches, which we achieved. The team members tried to give back what we gave them during training. We were also pleased that 3 of our opponents were Super League teams. In short, we tried to make the most of the 2-week period. We had a useful training camp. God willing, we will see the benefits of this in the upcoming games and during the championship." These words were said by the head coach of "Araz-Nakhchivan" Elmar Bakhshiyev in his statement to Sport24.az.
The experienced specialist stated that he was satisfied with the training camp held by his team in Turkey:
We will implement the final part of the preparation for the game with "Aris" in Baku. During the training camp, certain loads were given, and tactical and technical exercises were held. We will gradually see the benefits of this. Therefore, it cannot be said that the team is 100 percent ready. But I think that this indicator is close to 70-80 percent. As I mentioned, our opponents in the last 3 matches were teams playing in the Turkish Super League. In games with such strong opponents, it is possible to look at tactical, physical, and functional preparation, check and improve inter-line connections, see mistakes and work on them. We also tried to give a chance to all the football players we brought to the training camp. I was satisfied with the football players. They were enthusiastic and eager. Although the weather was hot, we had no problems with training. The food at the hotel and the training grounds were also in good condition. God willing, we will see the benefits of this in the games."
It should be noted that the first match of the second stage between "Araz-Nakhchivan", which will compete in the Conference League, and "Aris" will be held on July 24 in Baku, and the return match will be held on July 31 in Greece.
