"The "Goal of the Month" project in the Azerbaijan Premier League, held by the Professional Football League (PFL) for the last 2 years, will continue in the 2025/26 season."
Idman.biz reports that this was stated by PFL President Elkhan Samadov in his statement to Futbolxeber.az.
He also clarified the reason for not establishing a similar "Save of the Month" award for goalkeepers, which has been under discussion since last season: "We discussed the issue of presenting the 'Save of the Month' award with our sponsor last season. The only difference is that there are many players on the field, and they all have good scoring opportunities frequently. In this case, a selection is made from more than a hundred players. As for goalkeepers, let's admit that almost all teams use the same goalkeeper in most of their games. In this case, we would have to choose from almost the same goalkeepers for about 10 months. Therefore, we suspended the implementation of this project."
