Uzbekistan national team striker Eldor Shomurodov spoke about continuing his career at "Istanbul Başakşehir".
Idman.biz reports that the 30-year-old footballer's move from Roma to the Turkish club was formalized last week.
The contract is valid until the end of next season with the right to buy.
Speaking to Championat.uz, Shomurodov also emphasized the age factor: "First of all, I must note that I am already 30 years old. Now I have to be interested not only in football, but also in the end of my career and the financial side of the matter.
There were concrete offers from the UAE and Qatar. I was only thinking about the upcoming World Cup. In my opinion, the Turkish championship is a mid-level league. Stronger than the UAE, but a bit weaker than Italy."
The Uzbek footballer also emphasized that Başakşehir's participation in European Cups was important for him in his choice: "There were also offers from bigger Turkish clubs, but I chose Başakşehir because it is a young club with its own infrastructure. There is less pressure here compared to other teams and I am sure that I will constantly gain game experience. I hope we will have a season without injuries and this will be a good preparation for the World Cup. We have reached a mutually beneficial agreement."
