Budapest: Nihat Mammadli won gold, Murad Ahmadiev won bronze medal

A ranking tournament in Greco-Roman wrestling is being held in Budapest.

Idman.biz reports that Azerbaijani representatives are also competing for victory in the competition.

Nihat Mammadli defeated Seunghak Kim of Korea (9:0), Mehrac Bahramov of Uzbekistan (4:0) and Georgi Tibilov of Serbia (3:2) to reach the final. In the final, our representative, wrestling with Sumit Sumit from India, won with a score of 561 and became the champion of the ranking tournament.

Ilkin Gurbanov lost to Galim Kabdunassarov from Kazakhstan with a score of 1:9 in the 1/8 final.

Ziya Babashov lost to Islamcan Bahramov, the Asian champion and third in the world from Uzbekistan, in the qualifying round based on the last point principle (3:3).

Farid Khalilov defeated Byeonggi Seo from Korea with a score of 6:0, but lost to Leri Abuladze, the world and European champion from Georgia, in the 1/4 final based on the first point principle (1:1).

Sanan Suleymanov defeated Aleksa Ilic from Serbia (4:0) and Alexandrin Gutu from Moldova (8:0) and advanced to the 1/4 final.

Ulvi Ganizade defeated Antonio Kamenyasevic from Croatia (1:1) and Hyeonjin Kang from Korea (3:3) and advanced to the 1/4 final.

In the 1/4 final, Suleymanov qualified for the semi-final because Ulvi did not enter the mat in the match with Sanan. Sanan lost to Sergey Kutuzov (UWW) from Russia with a score of 6:8 in the semi-final and will wrestle with Levente Levai from Hungary in the evening session for the bronze medal.

Gurban Gurbanov did not appear in the match with Mikhail Bradu from Moldova in the qualifying round due to injury and withdrew from the competition.

Murad lost to Giorgi Melia from Georgia with a score of 1:5 in the semi-final. As a result, he wrestled with Iliya Yermolenko (UWW) from Russia for the bronze medal and won with a score of 8:4.

Arif Niftullayev defeated Nitesh Nitesh from India (9:0) and Yussuf Matsiyev from Kazakhstan (2:2), but lost to Giorgi Melia (fall) in the 1/4 final, and to Iliya Yermolenko (3:3) in the consolation match.
