Nihat Mammadli wins ranking tournament in Budapest, other wrestlers also compete - UPDATED

A ranking tournament in Greco-Roman wrestling is being held in Budapest.

Idman.biz reports that Azerbaijani representatives are also competing for victory in the competition.

Nihat Mammadli defeated Seunghak Kim of Korea (9:0), Mehrac Bahramov of Uzbekistan (4:0) and Georgi Tibilov of Serbia (3:2) to reach the final. In the final, our representative, wrestling with Sumit Sumit from India, won with a score of 561 and became the champion of the ranking tournament.

Ilkin Gurbanov lost to Galim Kabdunassarov of Kazakhstan with a score of 1:9 in the 1/8 final.

Ziya Babashov lost to Asian champion and world third place Islamcan Bahramov from Uzbekistan in the qualifying round based on the last point principle (3:3).

Although Farid Khalilov defeated Byeonggi Seo of Korea with a score of 6:0, he lost to Georgian world and European champion Leri Abuladze in the 1/4 final based on the first point principle (1:1).

Arif Niftullayev defeated Nitesh Nitesh of India (9:0) and Yussuf Matsiyev of Kazakhstan (2:2), but lost to Giorgi Melia of Georgia (pin) in the 1/4 final, and to Iliya Yermolenko of Russia (3:3) in the consolation match.
