Azerbaijani FIFA referee Elchin Masiyev was very happy to be appointed to the UEFA Super Cup match.
This was stated by Azerbaijani FIFA referee Elchin Masiyev in his statement to "Report" when talking about performing the function of the fourth referee in the UEFA Super Cup match between French PSG and English Tottenham.
The representative of justice said that it was unexpected for him:
"I was very happy when I was appointed to the Super Cup match. It is a matter of pride that an Azerbaijani referee officiated the final game after Tofig Bahramov. Getting appointed to such a match was unexpected. Being in the final, being on duty in a highly organized match was a very different feeling. I believe that this experience will contribute to my development in the future. I am also sure that this will be a good stimulus for our young referees."
It should be noted that the main time of the match ended with a score of 2:2. PSG won the trophy by beating their opponent in the penalty shootout.
