For more than 2 years, over 30 Azerbaijani children have been playing football at the "Marset" Football Academy in cooperation with ASTA (Azerbaijan Sport Talents Academy).
İdman.biz, citing Sportal.az, reports that after the arrest of businessman Adnan Ahmadzade, "Marset" decided to send the Azerbaijani children back.
This is due to ASTA's failure to make payments for the next month. The parents of the children there have been notified about the current situation. There is a possibility that "Marset" will keep a few of the most talented ones. The Spanish club will make a final decision on October 1.
ASTA head Rafael Bunyatov stated in his statements that all expenses have been covered by Adnan Ahmadzade until today. Payments have been suspended with the arrest of the businessman.
Note that the Sabail District Court of Baku chose a 4-month detention measure for A. Ahmadzade, who held high positions in SOCAR, on September 20. In the criminal case conducted by the State Security Service, Adnan Ahmadzade is accused of sabotage against economic security and especially large-scale embezzlement.
