Former Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar has shared his memories of playing alongside Cristiano Ronaldo under the guidance of Alex Ferguson at the "Red Devils."
Idman.biz reports that Van der Sar guarded Manchester United's goal from 2005-11.
"It was a great honor to play at such a historic club and under a coach like Sir Alex. I had a great relationship with Ferguson: his grandchildren went to the same school as my children.
Cristiano was incredible. He was always in the gym before and after practice. I had never seen a young man so hungry to win. He always told me, 'Edwin, I'm going to be the best in the world.' I advised him not to wear himself out so much, but he was right," La Gazzetta dello Sport quotes van der Sar.
Ronaldo played for Manchester United from 2003-2009. He won his first Ballon d'Or as part of the "Red Devils."
