Schalke 04 striker Edin Dzeko scored in the II Bundesliga match against Kaiserslautern (2-2) yesterday. Sport24.az reports that he has thus made his name in history.
The Bosnian footballer, who was 39 years, 10 months and 8 days old at the time of the match, became the oldest footballer to score in the II Bundesliga.
Previously, this record belonged to Helmut Haller, who scored in February 1979. Haller was about three months younger than Dzeko when he scored.
It should be noted that this was Dzeko's debut match for Schalke 04. He signed a contract on January 22, which is valid until the end of the current season. The striker has previously played for teams such as Fiorentina, Fenerbahce, Inter, Roma, Manchester City and Wolfsburg.
