"We are not complaining about the draw." Sport24.az reports that this was said by the head coach of the Lithuanian national team, Edgaras Jankauskas.
The expert, whose team will compete against Azerbaijan in the UEFA Nations League, shared his thoughts on the draw:
"We know that all the teams in this group are beatable for us. No match will be easy, and we will fight with all our efforts to move to a higher League."
The coach spoke about the opponents in the 2nd group:
"Of course, Azerbaijan is a higher-level team than Liechtenstein. They have footballers with European experience. Because the "Qarabağ" club often surprises Europe with its football. This is the club that sends the most players to the national team from the local championship. The Azerbaijani national team is not having its best period in recent years, and Azerbaijanis are not satisfied with the games and their results. The goal of all three teams in this group will be to rise to League C."
The Lithuanian head coach recalled that his compatriot Valdas Dambrauskas works at the "Sabah" club:
"Of course, we will talk to Valdas. There are also several players from the team he coaches in the Azerbaijani national team. We will collect all possible information to be ready for this match."
