"Qarabag" played the return match in the Champions League play-off round. The Azerbaijani champion was a guest of "Newcastle" in England. The team led by Gurban Gurbanov lost 2:3 and stopped the fight in the league. Sport24.az reports that after the match, at the press conference, "Newcastle" head coach Eddie Howe shared his thoughts on the match:
"Reaching the 1/8 final stage is a historic achievement for us. I don't think this match was that good. I guess our main problem was making the score 2:0 at the beginning of the match. We could not show the desire needed to score more goals. The Champions League is a great experience for us. Regardless of the identity of the opponent in the 1/8 finals, we will give our all and try to do our best."
